WHAT WE BELIEVE IN BCC

Members accept without reservation that the Bible makes known the Triune God spoken about in the Old and New Testaments and affirm the historic faith of the Gospel contained within them. Below are the doctrines which we regard as crucial to the understanding of the Christian faith.

  • The unity of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit;

  • The Bible - both Old and New Testaments - as being the entire Word of God without error. The Bible alone speaks with authority and is always sufficient for faith and conduct.

  • Every person is under the condemnation of God because of sin, the consequence of which is eternal punishment. Everyone must be born again by the Holy Spirit to receive forgiveness and reconciliation.

  • Jesus Christ is fully God and man. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. On a cross, He died in our place, bearing our punishment and redeeming us by His blood.

  • Salvation is entirely a work of God’s grace and cannot be earned or deserved. We believe in Christ crucified and risen again from the dead.

  • The Holy Spirit has been sent from Heaven to glorify Jesus Christ and convict the world of sin. He gives eternal life to believers and a true understanding of the Scriptures. He builds up the Church and empowers its members for worship and service.

  • The priesthood and eternal security of all believers who form the body of the universal Church of which the Lord Jesus Christ alone is the Head. The local Church is a visible expression of the universal Church and is committed to the task of proclaiming the Gospel in fellowship with others who are faithful to the Word of God.

  • The personal, visible return of Jesus Christ in power and glory.
